First Week in the Rainbow Trout Capital of the world

Happy Holidays,

First of all, I have to say how much I loved talking with my family on Christmas. It is crazy to see how much Carson and Kellen have grown up. I am so thankful for the continued love and support from my family.

I have grown my testimony this week of the scripture found in 2 Nephi 26:33 which states that “…he inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him, black and white, bond and free, male and female; and he remembereth the heathen; and all are alike unto God…” On my mission, though called as a Spanish missionary, have really struggled finding Hispanics who are ready to receive the gospel, and it has impacted me a great deal, that is until this week in Buhl. I haven’t taught one English lesson yet, just all Spanish lessons, and these brothers and sisters have been waiting for the gospel! Many of them want to be baptized and it is so flippin exciting!!! I am so grateful for this gospel and the truthfulness of it. IT IS FOR EVERYONE!

Elder Quiner and I had a great Christmas and were grinding on Christmas Eve and Christmas and we found a lot of people who were home. I have been thinking of the Book of Mormon a lot and in doing so found this: President Russell M. Nelson said in October 2017: ” I promise that as you prayerfully study the Book of Mormon every day, you will make better decisions- everyday. I promis that as you ponder what you study, the windows of heaven will open, and you will receive answers to your own questions and direction for your own life. I promise that as you daily immerse yourself in the Book of Mormon, you can be immunized against the evils of the day, even the gripping plague of pornography and other mind-numbing addictions.”

President Thomas S. Monson once said: “Of this be sure: You do not find the happy life… you make it.” As you continue making and building a happy life don’t forget the “keystone of our religion”. Without the keystone the structure crumbles and falls. May we stand strong, steadfast, and immovable in reading the Book of Mormon. I testify of the importance of the Book of Mormon, and know of its truthfulness! I know this church is true, and say so in the name of Jesus Christ, AMEN.

Have some wonderful Holidays, and have a great week! I love you all so much and continue to read the Book of Mormon, it helps with everything.

Con Amor,

Elder Saunders
