This last week was spectacular for more reasons than one! We were able to teach a lot of new people and the Lord blessed us to find 5 souls who are prepared to receive the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! We also were able to teach some of our investigators, and one of them mentioned how she has been praying to find a church where she belongs, but just couldn’t find it! Well one of her friends called and they talked about it and her friend mentioned how she probably found the church she belonged to, and then the grand epiphany came over her that the true church was under her nose the entire time, how awesome is that! As a result, we are going to set a baptismal date this next week with her so she can have the goal in mind so she can continue to progress in the gospel.
We were also able to teach a guy who originally did not want to talk with us, but as a companionship we felt inspired to stop him from closing the door and so we did, and he then expressed his doubts about the Book of Mormon. Then the next day, we felt like we should eat outside to enjoy the weather, and then this guy’s boy comes and stops and tells us we can come back tomorrow because his dad has the entire day off! haha so we showed up after church and we answered his questions and taught him the Restoration of the Gospel, and it was super powerful and he accepted a Book of Mormon and wanted to pray to know if the things we had taught him were true, which is sooooo exciting!
On Thursday we taught a killer English class, and our class is now growing every week. We started out with 3 students, and now we have like 8 students, so yeah that is pretty good! The best part about that is that all but three are non members!!! What an awesome blessing! Also this last week, we were able to enjoy zone conference and talk about a lot of different things, including the picture of the tree of life and the symbolism of such in today’s world. It was a pretty fun activity. The biggest thing that I remember was that while we were talking about the mist of darkness, we must remember that EVERY single one of God’s Children had to walk through that mist of darkness to find the rod of iron. All those things we learn and the spirits testifies of, can be considered the rod of iron.
So the invitation is this, this next week I want to invite you to consider how the talks in sacrament can be your rod of iron. I promise that as you do so, you will be more focused on those things that the Lord is trying to say to you, and you will receive guidance so you can be a better minister of Jesus Christ and his gospel! I leave you with my testimony of the importance of the trials we have in our lives, so we might also savor the good that is in our lives. I know that Christ is real, and I know him, and will continue to get to know him as I read the Book of Mormon and study His words. I testify of these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
