Transfers bring blessings

I have been transferred to Burley and I am way excited! I am with Elder Mehr and he is from Gilbert Arizona, and is really awesome! There is a lot of potential in the area and I am way excited to grind here and see where the area will go! We were extremely busy helping missionaries get settled in so we didn’t really have any lessons. We had a great Sunday yesterday and we were able to see a couple people come to church, but other than that, that is pretty much it!

Also her is an excerpt from President Bartlett’s letter calling me to be a Zone Leader, and I thought I would share it because it really touched me. Hope you enjoy it! He begins the letter talking about Hannah and the story of her asking God for a son and then receiving one as outlined in 1 Samuel 1, then President said:

“That the Lord called Samuel: and he answered, Here am I. And he ran unto Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou calledst me. And he said, I called not; lie down again. And he went and lay down.” This same thing happened a second time. The third time Samuel arrived at Eli’s bedside Eli responded; “Go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, Lord; for thy servant heareth”. The boy prophet did as he was told; “And the Lord came, and stood, and called as at other times, Samuel, Samuel. Then Samuel answered, Speak; for thy servant heareth. And the Lord said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle.” 1 Samuel 3

It is my sincere and solemn testimony that the Lord has called you, through one of His holy prophets. He has called you to do the most important work that you have done in your life to date.

Now, listen very very carefully, HE CONTINUES TO CALL YOU! I pray that he calls you every day, multiple times each day. It is and always will be my humble prayer that you will listen and respond when He calls. You know that you must remain worthy to hear His voice and as you again and again answer His call we become powerful instruments in His hands, like Samuel.

The Lord is calling you at this very moment, what is He requesting of you? Remember how you should respond, “Speak; for thy servant heareth” and then have the courage, faith, and determination to do what is asked.

I testify that as we look to do the things the Lord asks us to do, we will be blessed beyond belief. I know that I have been called of God, along with my mission president and all the other leaders in the church. I hope you all have a wonderful week and know how much I love you all.
