Remember, Remember!

What a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and week prior! Another week to remember, especially with all those who have given their lives for the freedoms of this country. Thank you.

This last week we contacted a lot of people, but not much success in that aspect. We were able to teach the last lesson to our investigator who is getting baptized this next Saturday, and she is so pumped and has been inviting everyone to her baptism, which is also exciting! When I say we taught her the last lesson, we mean that she taught us the last lesson and we just reviewed it with her because of how golden she is and all the knowledge she already has, which was super cool! We also were able to have the baptismal interview for her, and she passed with flying colors and we sent a picture of us with her and her boy friend after the interview.

We also were able to see some real good progression with the members in the area and their excitement for the work, so that is really exciting as well. We cut down a jungle this week for service as well, and that was a great experience! It was not literally a jungle, but it was about 2 1/2 feet tall grass, and it was for some investigators who didn’t have a lawn mower or anything else to cut it with, so we went and helped them with that and it was great! We went on two exchanges this last week as well, and I went with an Elder into Oakley, and there is a picture of Oakley I attached, along with the missionary I went on exchanges with! We had a great time, and although nobody answered or wanted us to do service for them, we still were ablel to feel the spirit and have a great time! The other exchange was on Memorial day, and we were able to talk to 30 brand new people which was absolutely amazing!

We had some great steaks this last week, and everybody has been grilling for us so that is wonderful!

Tomorrow Elder Brian K. Taylor of the seventy will be coming to our mission to tour it and we have studied and prepared diligently for that, and as a result, are extremely excited for it! I would encourage each and every one of you to REMEMBER your divine origin as a CHILD of God. I know that each and every one of us are indeed children of a loving Heavenly Father, and he loves us so much that he has given us families, prophets, the gospel, and even his ONLY BEGOTTEN SON, just for YOU.  As Elder Taylor said: “As we follow the examples of the Savior and the Prophet Joseph in earnestly seeking God, we will come to understand in a very real way…that our Father knows us by name, that we are His children.” Continue to seek Him diligently and earnestly, and I promise that you will come to REMEMBER exactly who you are, and you will have the desire to do the Lord’s will instead of your own, and become the Lord’s will as Nephi did in Helaman 10. I love you and want to invite you to seek him diligently through prayer and the study of the word of God, including the talk below, and as you do so, you will feel the spirit testify of the truthfulness of these things. I say this in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Con Amor,

Elder Saunders
