It was a great week this last week! We taught a lot of people and we ended up having 7 people at church which was so amazing to see! We felt that what was talked about in sacrament meeting was perfect for them, and sure enough after the meeting they came up to us and mentioned how great it was and that it was just what they needed. Talking about lifting burdens, here is a continuation from last week and how powerful helping our fellow bretheren really is.
DO YOU NOW, OR HAVE YOU EVER FELT AS THOUGH THERE WAS A HEAVY WEIGHT ON YOUR SHOULDERS? “And it came to pass that the voice of the Lord came to them in their afflictions, saying: Lift up your heads and be of good comfort… I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs… it came to pass that the burdens… WERE MADE LIGHT… the Lord did strengthen them that they could bear up their burdens with ease, and they did submit CHEERFULLY and with PATIENCE to all the will of the Lord… And it came to pass that so great was their faith and their patience that the voice of the Lord came unto them again, saying: Be of good comfort, for on the morrow I will deliver you out of bondage.” Mosiah 24:13-16
Heavenly Father knows, He knows about your physical challenges, temptations you face, and emotional trials, He knows. He watched His Only Begotten Son experience, suffer, and atone for each and every one of these burdens. Because He knows, He can help, He knows exactly what is needed, so trust Him, have faith in Him and His Son. The burdens may remain, but they will be bearable; “Are you ever burdened with a load of care? Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear? Count your many blessings; every doubt will fly, And you will be singing as the days go by.” Count Your Blessings (President Bartlett’s weekly email)
With that said, to fullfill the commitment for this week and last week of lifting someone’s burden, here is a list of five ways we can minister:
- Planning a game or card night and inviting members of another faith or those who need to be strengthened.
- Babysitting a kids for a friend so they can go to the temple or have a date night.
- Giving food storage to someone, whether it is homemade or store bought.
- Create, draw or paint a piece of art that would be meaningful to a friend and then give it to them as a present.
- Participate with some friends in a Just Serve Service Project.

PS. I also wanted to mention that I absolutely loved having the opportunity to serve with my amazing brother, Carson for a day. He is prepared to serve and I know he will bless many lives in the Houston Texas South Mission. I love you Carson.
